Last week, Mr. Muhammad Shuja, was invited as a Guest Speaker, to the brilliant MS IT students at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), to talk about the two fields shaping our world—AI and Cloud Computing, that which are hot trends in Malaysia as well. What started as a one-hour session turned into an engaging two-hour dialogue (Q&A), driven by the curiosity and enthusiasm of the students asking questions.
Why did he do this session? Simply because this is what he loves to do—sharing the knowledge and experiences he has been fortunate enough to gain over the years. It’s deeply fulfilling to inspire, guide, and contribute to the growth of our next generation of innovators.
We dived into:
1️⃣ Trends in AI and Cloud Computing – My experience in general and AI & Cloud landscape in particular and its opportunities.
2️⃣ Cloud Vendors: Azure vs OCI – My hands-on experiences with both, the strengths, challenges, and key learnings.
3️⃣ AI Use Cases:
On Azure: Vision, Speech-to-Text (STT), Text-to-Speech (TTS), and OpenAI.
On OCI: Machine Learning (ML) and Predictive Maintenance.
4️⃣ Sharing About Recent ML Projects:
Insurance Fraud Detection (AI in the Financial Sector).
We also explored how students and developers can harness the power of Azure and OCI through their accessible offerings, certifications, and resources tailored for learning and growth.
A huge thank you to Dr. Massudi Mahmuddin, Dean Student Affairs, School of Computing, Universiti Utara Malaysia, for organizing this enriching session. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to give back to the Malaysian society as part of our shared mission at Musufa. It’s moments like these that remind us, of the value of knowledge-sharing and mentorship. This is just one of many ways we aim to contribute to fostering knowledge-sharing and nurturing future innovators.
To all the students who attended: Thank you for your lively participation, insightful questions, and passion for learning. Your curiosity inspires me! For those who couldn’t join or anyone else interested in these topics, feel free to drop your questions in the comments/email. Let’s continue this journey of learning and collaboration together.
As we embrace the Rahmah (mercy) of this blessed month of Ramadan, let’s share knowledge, uplift one another, and work towards a future of equitable growth and innovation for all Malaysians.
Here’s to building a brighter future through knowledge and technology in Malaysia.
